Diffusion and Osmosis

 

Materials:

 

• Thistle tube, dialysis tubing, corn syrup
• India Ink solution
• IKI and Methylene Blue solution
• Bore and agar plate
• Ohaus Balance
• Glucose solution, thread, dialysis tubing
• Warm and Cold water bath    

Experiment:

 

This lab will represent how chemicals move in and out of cells through the process of diffusion. And Osmosis will be the same way but only it is a process through water and chemical go in and out the same way.

• Chlorophyll and carotenoid extracts
• Elodea 1,2 and 3
• Tradescantia guard cell
• Tradescantia guard cells - living plant
• Potato
• White sweet potato
• Brown sweet potato
• Turnip
• Fruits (Apples, Pears and Banannas)

Plants and energy use leave cells and fruit on how they both give off energy making earth sustainable for life
